In our early life, we experience great freedom and flexibility in body and mind. Over time, many of us grow increasingly rigid and sluggish in body, less open, inclusive and curious in mind. Yoga practice returns us home to our liberated selves we experienced as children.
Andrew enjoys yoga as a prayerful practice wherein rhythmic breathing and intentional movement unite in communal space to remind us who we are, how we are blessed, and what is important. In his practice and teaching Andrew employs humor to ease the mind, vigor to ignite the body, and compassion to satisfy the soul.
Andrew has been moving since he could move and always enjoys learning new ways to play in the body. He started with soccer, baseball, basketball, wrestling, karate, lacrosse, tennis, hockey, etc., and now also enjoys singing, drumming, biking, hiking, swimming, dancing, climbing, jiu jitsu, parkour, trampolining and the like. He began his intentional yoga journey at Verge and completed his 200-hr training under the guidance of Cara, Jane, and Dan. He then taught yoga for several years in Baltimore, MD, and completed his 500-hr training under the guidance of Kim Manfredi.
He lives now in Berwyn with his wife Jen, their kids, Marley & Xavier, and their Pomeranian, Bambi. You’ll see them in the yard, at the Y, enjoying public green spaces and streams, and stocking up at MOM’s Organic Market – Bryn Mawr (where Jen works!).
